ELECTRI-CORD’S COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY: A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH IN MANUFACTURING AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS
At Electri-Cord Manufacturing, we are committed to providing products that meet global environmental and regulatory requirements. We actively monitor legislation such as RoHS, REACH, California Proposition 65, and other material compliance standards to ensure that our products support the safety, health, and sustainability goals of our customers.
- RoHS
RoHS Compliance
The European Union’s RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU, as amended by 2015/863) restricts the use of ten hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These include heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and mercury, as well as phthalates commonly used as plasticizers in insulation and jackets.
- At ECM, we ensure that our products and components comply with RoHS requirements. This includes careful oversight of materials used in cables, connectors, molded parts, and assemblies.
- We work closely with our suppliers to verify compliance and actively eliminate restricted substances from our products.
📄 Need a certificate? If you require product-specific RoHS certification, please contact us compliance@ecmfg.com and we will provide the appropriate documentation.
- REACH
REACH Compliance
The REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006) requires companies to identify and control the use of chemicals that may pose risks to human health or the environment.
- At ECM, we actively monitor the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) list maintained by ECHA and update our compliance programs as new substances are added.
- If any SVHC is present in our products above the 0.1% w/w threshold, we will notify customers in accordance with REACH Article 59(10) and provide the necessary documentation.
🔗 For the latest SVHC Candidate List, visit the ECHA website.
📄 Need a certificate? If you require product-specific REACH certification, please contact us at compliance@ecmfg.com and we will provide the appropriate documentation.
- PROP65
Proposition 65 (California) Statement
California’s Proposition 65 requires warnings for products that may expose consumers to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
- ECM evaluates its products for listed chemicals such as lead, phthalates (e.g., DINP, DEHP), flame retardants, and other restricted substances. Where applicable, we provide warnings and disclosures in accordance with California law.
⚠️ Proposition 65 Warning:
This product can expose you to chemicals including Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP), Lead, and Antimony Trioxide, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and/or reproductive harm. For more information, visit: www.P65Warnings.ca.gov📄 Printable Statement:

Conflict Minerals (CMRT/EMRT)
ECM supports responsible sourcing of minerals in accordance with the Dodd-Frank Act and international due diligence frameworks.
- We use the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) and Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) to collect and disclose information about the presence of 3TG (tin, tungsten, tantalum, gold) and other high-risk minerals in our supply chain.
- Our goal is to ensure that our products are not sourced from operations that finance armed conflict.

- PFAS
PFAS Compliance
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are under increasing global regulation due to persistence and health/environmental risks.
- ECM actively evaluates its supply chain to identify and eliminate PFAS where possible.
- We stay aligned with EU REACH, U.S. EPA actions, and state-level PFAS restrictions.
📄 Need a certificate? If you require product-specific PFAS disclosure, please contact us at compliance@ecmfg.com.
- FMD
Full Material Disclosure (FMD)
ECM supports customer requirements for Full Material Disclosures (FMDs) to enable compliance with global regulations.
- We collect material composition data down to the homogeneous material level where available.
- Data formats such as IPC-1752A and other structured reporting templates are supported.
📄 Need a certificate? If you require product-specific FMD data, please contact us at compliance@ecmfg.com.
- SCIP (WFD)
SCIP (Waste Framework Directive)
The EU Waste Framework Directive (WFD) requires companies to notify the ECHA SCIP database of articles containing SVHCs above 0.1% w/w.
- ECM submits required SCIP notifications for applicable products to ensure transparency in the waste and recycling chain.
- Customers can request SCIP notification numbers as needed.

Tariffs & Country of Origin
ECM understands the importance of accurate Country of Origin (COO) and tariff classification information for our customers’ import and export activities.
- We determine COO in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rules and international trade agreements.
- Our materials and sourcing teams review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supplier declarations to ensure accuracy.
- For tariff purposes, we assign the correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes for our products.
